J C Atkinson is very conscious of the environment, and as with other leading manufacturers, concerned with the impact we have on our planet. Over the last twelve years we have implemented many changes to significantly improve the way we procure materials and manage our production. Due in part to this, and our award winning factory, we have been voted the overall Sunday Times Best Green Company in 2008.
We make around 60,000 coffins a year, the shear volume of which holds significant implications for the world around us. We continually strive to better our practice, reducing its impact on the environment and improve the reputation of our industry.
We understand that when a family are arranging a funeral, circumstance dictates that this is not the best time to discuss in detail the environmental impact of the Coffins and Caskets they may choose. However, as a company we look to sell only products made to the highest environmental standards, ensuring any choice is the right choice.
As a manufacturer we have evolved our business to be market leaders adopting best practice. All products we manufacture are made in our award winning factory and the majority are made from Forest Stewardship Council (F.S.C.) certified wood, proven to be from sustainable sources.
